The Rat CK-18 (KRT18) Cytokeratin 18 ELISA Kit is specifically designed for the accurate quantification of rat cytokeratin 18 levels in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. This kit offers high sensitivity and specificity, ensuring precise and reliable results for a variety of research applications.Cytokeratin 18 is a key intermediate filament protein that is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of epithelial cells. It is involved in cell migration, proliferation, and apoptosis, and dysregulation of cytokeratin 18 expression has been implicated in various diseases, including liver injury, liver fibrosis, and certain types of cancer.
By accurately measuring cytokeratin 18 levels, researchers can gain valuable insights into the pathophysiology of these diseases and potentially identify new therapeutic targets. The Rat CK-18 (KRT18) Cytokeratin 18 ELISA Kit is a valuable tool for studying cytokeratin 18 biology in rat models and advancing our understanding of these complex disease processes.

This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat CK-18/KRT18. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat CK-18/KRT18 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat CK-18/KRT18, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat CK-18/KRT18. You can calculate the concentration of Rat CK-18/KRT18 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
