The Rat CD8a Monoclonal Antibody PE-Cyanine7 Conjugated (OX-8) is a valuable tool for researchers studying immune cell populations in rats. This monoclonal antibody specifically targets the CD8a protein, a cell surface marker found on cytotoxic T cells, and is conjugated with PE-Cyanine7 for enhanced fluorescence in flow cytometry applications.CD8a is a crucial marker for identifying and analyzing subsets of T cells in the immune system, particularly cytotoxic T cells involved in immune responses against pathogens and cancer cells. By targeting CD8a, researchers can accurately isolate and study these important cell populations, gaining insights into immune function and responses in rats.
This antibody, clone OX-8, provides high specificity and sensitivity for detecting CD8a-expressing cells in rat samples, making it an ideal choice for experiments focused on immune cell characterization and function. Whether investigating immune responses, autoimmunity, or transplantation studies, the Rat CD8a Monoclonal Antibody PE-Cyanine7 Conjugated (OX-8) offers reliable performance and accurate results for a wide range of research applications in immunology and beyond.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use. We suggest each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results [The recommended concentration is 0.1-1 μg/106 cells in 100 μL volume].

Background:
CD8a is a 32 kD glycoprotein also known as T8, Lyt2, Ly-2, and CD8α. CD8a is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed on most thymocytes, subset of mature T cells, most NK cells, macrophages, and some activated CD4+ T cells (not resting). CD8a forms heterodimers with the CD8β chain (CD8b) on the surface of most thymocytes, while mature peripheral T lymphocytes express almost exclusively the CD8 αβ heterodimer. Intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes express CD8a without CD8b. CD8 is an antigen co-receptor on T cells that interacts with MHC class I on antigen-presenting cells or epithelial cells. CD8 participates in T cell activation through its association with the T cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase lck (p56lck).
