The Rat CD8a Monoclonal Antibody (PE Conjugated) -OX-8 (AGEL1265) is a potent tool for researchers studying CD8a, a crucial cell surface marker expressed on cytotoxic T cells and some natural killer cells. This high-quality antibody, conjugated with phycoerythrin (PE) for easy detection in flow cytometry, is specifically designed for use in rat samples.By targeting the CD8a protein, this monoclonal antibody enables precise identification and characterization of CD8a-positive cells in various experimental settings, making it indispensable for immunology and cell biology research. The PE conjugation enhances signal detection sensitivity, facilitating accurate analysis of cell populations expressing CD8a.
CD8a plays a pivotal role in immune responses, particularly in cytotoxic T cell-mediated immunity against pathogens and tumor cells. Its expression pattern and function make it a key molecule in understanding adaptive immune responses, transplant rejection, and autoimmune diseases. By using the Rat CD8a Monoclonal Antibody (PE Conjugated) -OX-8 (AGEL1265), researchers can delve deeper into the mechanisms underlying immune cell function and elucidate the role of CD8a in various physiological and pathological conditions.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use. We suggest each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results [The recommended concentration is 0.1-1 μg/106 cells in 100 μL volume].

Background:
CD8a is a 32 kD glycoprotein also known as T8, Lyt2, Ly-2, and CD8α. CD8a is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed on most thymocytes, subset of mature T cells, most NK cells, macrophages, and some activated CD4+ T cells (not resting). CD8a forms heterodimers with the CD8β chain (CD8b) on the surface of most thymocytes, while mature peripheral T lymphocytes express almost exclusively the CD8 αβ heterodimer. Intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes express CD8a without CD8b. CD8 is an antigen co-receptor on T cells that interacts with MHC class I on antigen-presenting cells or epithelial cells. CD8 participates in T cell activation through its association with the T cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase lck (p56lck).
