The Rat CD8A Monoclonal Antibody (APC Conjugated, Clone: OX-8, AGEL1266) offered by Assay Genie is a highly specific and reliable tool for research involving rat CD8A, a critical marker of T cell subsets. This antibody is conjugated with allophycocyanin (APC), allowing for easy detection and analysis using flow cytometry techniques. Clone OX-8 is well characterized and has been validated for various applications, including immunophenotyping and cell sorting in rat samples.CD8A is an essential cell surface glycoprotein found on cytotoxic T cells, playing a key role in antigen recognition and immune response. By targeting CD8A with this monoclonal antibody, researchers can effectively study T cell populations in rat models, aiding in the investigation of immune responses, infectious diseases, and autoimmunity.
The high specificity and sensitivity of this antibody make it a valuable tool for studies in immunology, vaccine development, and transplantation research.Overall, the Rat CD8A Monoclonal Antibody (APC Conjugated, Clone: OX-8, AGEL1266) from Assay Genie is a reliable reagent that enables precise and efficient detection of CD8A-expressing cells in rat samples, facilitating in-depth research into T cell biology and immune function in a variety of experimental settings.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use. We suggest each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results [The recommended concentration is 0.1-1 μg/106 cells in 100 μL volume].

Background:
CD8a is a 32 kD glycoprotein also known as T8, Lyt2, Ly-2, and CD8α. CD8a is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed on most thymocytes, subset of mature T cells, most NK cells, macrophages, and some activated CD4+ T cells (not resting). CD8a forms heterodimers with the CD8β chain (CD8b) on the surface of most thymocytes, while mature peripheral T lymphocytes express almost exclusively the CD8 αβ heterodimer. Intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes express CD8a without CD8b. CD8 is an antigen co-receptor on T cells that interacts with MHC class I on antigen-presenting cells or epithelial cells. CD8 participates in T cell activation through its association with the T cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase lck (p56lck).
