The Rat CD8a Monoclonal Antibody (AF488 Conjugated) - Ox-8 (AG1272) offered by AssayGenie is a cutting-edge tool for researchers studying immune responses in rats. This monoclonal antibody, conjugated with AF488 for fluorescence detection, specifically targets the CD8a protein, a crucial cell surface marker involved in cytotoxic T cell function.Designed for use in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence applications, this antibody provides high specificity and sensitivity in detecting CD8a-expressing cells in rat samples. With its fluorescent conjugation, it enables precise visualization and analysis of CD8a-positive cells within complex cellular populations. The CD8a protein is essential for T cell-mediated immune responses and plays a key role in immune surveillance and defense against pathogens.
Its expression profile and functionality are of great interest in immunology research, particularly in investigating T cell activation, differentiation, and cytotoxic activity.By utilizing the Rat CD8a Monoclonal Antibody (AF488 Conjugated) - Ox-8 (AG1272), researchers can advance their understanding of rat immune responses and T cell biology, paving the way for discoveries in areas such as infectious diseases, autoimmune disorders, and cancer immunotherapy. Trust AssayGenie's high-quality reagents to drive your research forward with precision and reliability.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use. We suggest each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results [The recommended concentration is 0.1-1 μg/106 cells in 100 μL volume].

Background:
CD8a is a 32 kD glycoprotein also known as T8, Lyt2, Ly-2, and CD8α. CD8a is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed on most thymocytes, subset of mature T cells, most NK cells, macrophages, and some activated CD4+ T cells (not resting). CD8a forms heterodimers with the CD8β chain (CD8b) on the surface of most thymocytes, while mature peripheral T lymphocytes express almost exclusively the CD8 αβ heterodimer. Intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes express CD8a without CD8b. CD8 is an antigen co-receptor on T cells that interacts with MHC class I on antigen-presenting cells or epithelial cells. CD8 participates in T cell activation through its association with the T cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase lck (p56lck).
