The Mouse LY-6G/LY-6C (Gr-1) Monoclonal Antibody (PerCP-Cyanine5.5 Conjugated, RB6-8C5) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the immune system and inflammation in mice. This antibody, designated AGEL1486, targets the LY-6G/LY-6C (Gr-1) protein complex, which is commonly used as a marker for certain subsets of immune cells, such as granulocytes and myeloid-derived suppressor cells. The RB6-8C5 antibody is monoclonal in origin, offering high specificity and reliable performance in applications such as flow cytometry and immunofluorescence. By binding to the LY-6G/LY-6C (Gr-1) antigen, this antibody enables researchers to accurately identify and quantify these cell populations in various tissues and experimental conditions.
Given the crucial roles of LY-6G/LY-6C (Gr-1) cells in the immune response, this antibody is instrumental for investigating inflammatory processes, infection responses, and the tumor microenvironment in murine models. Its application extends to preclinical studies aiming to elucidate the mechanisms underlying immune cell dynamics and their impact on disease progression and treatment outcomes.

Background:
Gr-1 is a 21-25 kD protein also known as Ly-6G/Ly-6C. This myeloid differentiation antigen is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-linked protein expressed on granulocytes and macrophages. In bone marrow, the expression levels of Gr-1 directly correlate with granulocyte differentiation and maturation; Gr-1 is also transiently expressed on bone marrow cells in the monocyte lineage. Immature Myeloid Gr-1+ cells play a role in the development of antitumor immunity.
