The Mouse LY-6G/LY-6C (GR-1) Monoclonal Antibody (AF488 Conjugated, RB6-8C5) is an essential tool for researchers investigating neutrophils and myeloid cells. This antibody, conjugated with AF488 for fluorescent detection, specifically targets the LY-6G and LY-6C antigens, also known as the GR-1 marker, commonly used to identify these cell populations. LY-6G/LY-6C (GR-1) is a critical marker for characterizing neutrophils, monocytes, and other myeloid cells in various experimental settings. The antibody's high specificity and sensitivity make it an excellent choice for flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and other techniques aimed at studying the function and behavior of these immune cell subsets.
Understanding the role of LY-6G/LY-6C (GR-1) in immune response and inflammation is vital for unraveling mechanisms underlying disease pathogenesis and immune-mediated disorders. Researchers focusing on immunology, infection, inflammation, and cancer biology will benefit greatly from the accurate and reliable detection capabilities of this monoclonal antibody, enabling detailed analysis and profiling of cell populations in diverse biological contexts.

Background:
Gr-1 is a 21-25 kD protein also known as Ly-6G/Ly-6C. This myeloid differentiation antigen is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-linked protein expressed on granulocytes and macrophages. In bone marrow, the expression levels of Gr-1 directly correlate with granulocyte differentiation and maturation; Gr-1 is also transiently expressed on bone marrow cells in the monocyte lineage. Immature Myeloid Gr-1+ cells play a role in the development of antitumor immunity.
