The Mouse CD80 Monoclonal Antibody (PERCP-Cyanine5.5 Conjugated, 16-10A1, AGEL0538) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the CD80 protein, a key immune checkpoint molecule involved in co-stimulatory signaling. This monoclonal antibody, conjugated with PERCP-Cyanine5.5 for easy detection and analysis, is specifically designed for flow cytometry applications in mouse samples.CD80, also known as B7-1, plays a crucial role in T cell activation and immune response regulation. By binding to its receptor on T cells, CD80 provides the necessary co-stimulatory signal for effective T cell activation and proliferation. Dysregulation of CD80 signaling has been implicated in various immune-related diseases, making it a target of interest in immunology and cancer research.
Researchers can use the Mouse CD80 Monoclonal Antibody to analyze the expression levels of CD80 on immune cells, investigate its role in immune activation processes, and study its potential as a therapeutic target in immunotherapy strategies. With its high specificity and validated performance in flow cytometry, this antibody is a valuable asset for understanding the intricate mechanisms of immune response modulation and developing novel therapeutic interventions.

Background:
CD80 is a 60 kD highly glycosylated protein. It is a member of the Ig superfamily and is also known as B7-1, B7, and Ly-53. CD80 is constitutively expressed on dendritic cells and monocytes/macrophages, and inducibly expressed on activated B and T cells. The ligation of CD28 on T cells with CD80 and CD86 (B7-2) on antigen presenting cells (such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells) elicits co-stimulation of T cells resulting in enhanced cell activation, proliferation, and cytokine production. CD80 appears to be expressed later in the immune response than CD86. CD80 can also bind to CD152, also known as CTLA-4, to deliver an inhibitory signal to T cells.
