The Mouse CD71 Monoclonal Antibody PerCP-Cyanine5.5 Conjugated (R17-217.1.3, TIB-219) is a powerful tool for researchers working with CD71, a cell surface protein involved in iron metabolism and cell proliferation. This antibody, specifically designed for use in flow cytometry, enables the detection and quantification of CD71 expression in mouse samples with high specificity and sensitivity.CD71, also known as transferrin receptor 1, plays a vital role in cellular iron uptake and utilization, making it a key player in processes like erythropoiesis and cell growth. Understanding the expression levels and localization of CD71 is essential for studying conditions such as anemia, cancer, and developmental disorders where iron metabolism and cell proliferation are dysregulated.
By targeting CD71 with this monoclonal antibody, researchers can investigate the role of this protein in various biological processes, including cell cycle regulation, proliferation, and differentiation. With its PerCP-Cyanine5.5 conjugation, this antibody offers efficient detection and analysis capabilities, making it a valuable tool for studies in cell biology, oncology, and hematology.

Background:
CD71 is a 95 kD type II heterodimeric transmembrane glycoprotein that is also known as T9 and transferrin receptor. CD71 is expressed on proliferating cells, reticulocytes, and erythroid precursors. Its expression is very low on resting leukocytes. CD71 plays a role in the control of cellular proliferation by facilitating the uptake of iron via ferrotransferrin binding and the recycling of apotransferrin to the cell surface.
