The Mouse CD71 Monoclonal Antibody (PE/Cyanine5 Conjugated, R17-217.1.3/TIB-219, AGEL1191) is a powerful tool for researchers studying CD71, a key protein involved in iron metabolism and cell proliferation. This antibody, specifically designed for use in flow cytometry, recognizes the CD71 protein in mouse samples with high specificity and sensitivity.CD71, also known as transferrin receptor 1, plays a crucial role in cellular iron uptake and is often upregulated in rapidly dividing cells, including cancer cells. By targeting CD71 with this monoclonal antibody, researchers can analyze and quantify the expression of this protein in a variety of cell types, shedding light on its involvement in processes such as cell growth, differentiation, and iron homeostasis. The PE/Cyanine5 conjugation of this antibody allows for multiparameter flow cytometry analysis, facilitating the simultaneous detection of CD71 along with other cell surface markers.
This feature makes the antibody especially valuable for studies investigating cell proliferation, differentiation, and iron metabolism in mouse models.Overall, the Mouse CD71 Monoclonal Antibody (PE/Cyanine5 Conjugated) provides a reliable and specific tool for researchers exploring the role of CD71 in various biological processes, including cancer development, erythropoiesis, and iron homeostasis. Its use in flow cytometry experiments ensures accurate and detailed analysis of CD71 expression in mouse samples, contributing to a better understanding of cellular dynamics and disease mechanisms.

Background:
CD71 is a 95 kD type II heterodimeric transmembrane glycoprotein that is also known as T9 and transferrin receptor. CD71 is expressed on proliferating cells, reticulocytes, and erythroid precursors. Its expression is very low on resting leukocytes. CD71 plays a role in the control of cellular proliferation by facilitating the uptake of iron via ferrotransferrin binding and the recycling of apotransferrin to the cell surface.
