The Mouse CD71 Monoclonal Antibody PE/Cyanine5.5 Conjugated (R17-217.1-3) is a specialized tool designed for researchers working with CD71, a crucial cell surface marker involved in iron metabolism and cell proliferation. This monoclonal antibody, conjugated with PE/Cyanine5.5, allows for precise visualization and quantification of CD71 expression in mouse samples through flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy techniques.CD71, also known as transferrin receptor protein 1, plays a vital role in cellular iron uptake by binding to transferrin-bound iron and facilitating its internalization. Its high expression levels in rapidly dividing cells make it a key target in studies related to cell growth regulation, hematopoiesis, and cancer biology.
By using this antibody, researchers can accurately analyze CD71 expression patterns in various tissues and cell types, providing valuable insights into iron homeostasis and cell proliferation mechanisms. With its specificity and sensitivity, the Mouse CD71 Monoclonal Antibody PE/Cyanine5.5 Conjugated (R17-217.1-3) is an indispensable tool for investigations into iron metabolism, cell cycle progression, and related pathways. Whether studying normal physiological processes or disease conditions such as cancer or anemia, this antibody offers reliable and reproducible results, enhancing the understanding of CD71 biology and its implications in health and disease.

Background:
CD71 is a 95 kD type II heterodimeric transmembrane glycoprotein that is also known as T9 and transferrin receptor. CD71 is expressed on proliferating cells, reticulocytes, and erythroid precursors. Its expression is very low on resting leukocytes. CD71 plays a role in the control of cellular proliferation by facilitating the uptake of iron via ferrotransferrin binding and the recycling of apotransferrin to the cell surface.
