The Mouse CD54 Monoclonal Antibody (AG-EL0121) is an essential tool for researchers studying CD54, a cell adhesion molecule also known as intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1). This Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated antibody, clone YN1/1.7.4, is specifically designed for fluorescence-based applications, allowing for precise visualization and analysis of CD54 expression in various experimental setups.CD54/ICAM-1 plays a crucial role in mediating immune responses, facilitating leukocyte adhesion to endothelial cells and promoting inflammatory processes. The monoclonal antibody offered by Assay Genie is highly specific to mouse samples, providing researchers with a reliable tool for investigating CD54 expression levels and localization in different tissues and cell types.
Its conjugation with Alexa Fluor 488 further enhances its utility for fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and other imaging techniques. With its proven efficacy and specificity, the Mouse CD54 Monoclonal Antibody (AG-EL0121) is a valuable resource for studies focusing on immune cell interactions, inflammation, and related disease processes. Researchers can leverage the antibody's capabilities to deepen their understanding of CD54 function and its potential implications in various pathological conditions, including autoimmune disorders, infectious diseases, and inflammatory disorders.

Background:
CD54 is a 90 kD immunoglobulin superfamily member also known as ICAM-1 and Ly-47. It is expressed on activated endothelial cells, high endothelial venules (HEV), T and B cells, monocytes/ macrophages, granulocytes, and dendritic cells. CD54 is an important intracellular adhesion molecule that participates in T cell-T cell, T cell-B cell, and T cell-target cell interactions via binding of LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18) and Mac-1 (CD11b/CD18). CD54 has also been shown to be involved in lymphocyte trafficking, making it an important molecule in many immune reactions and inflammation. CD54 is also a receptor for rhinovirus. The YN1/1.7.4 antibody has been reported to block binding of mouse CD54 to LFA-1 and Mac-1, inhibit cell-cell adhesion, and function in antigen presentation to T cells and leukocyte migration to inflammatory tissues.
