The Mouse CD5 Monoclonal Antibody PE Conjugated (53-7.3) is a specialized tool for researchers studying CD5, a crucial cell surface glycoprotein involved in lymphocyte development and activation. This monoclonal antibody, conjugated with PE for fluorescent detection, is specifically engineered for flow cytometry applications in mouse samples.CD5, a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich superfamily, is predominantly expressed on T cells and B-1a cells, where it regulates signaling pathways associated with cell activation and tolerance. Its unique role in modulating immune responses and promoting self-tolerance makes it a key target in immunology research, particularly in understanding autoimmune diseases, B cell malignancies, and immune system dysregulation.
By utilizing the Mouse CD5 Monoclonal Antibody PE Conjugated (53-7.3), researchers can accurately detect and analyze CD5 expression on different immune cell subsets, enabling deeper insights into immune system function and dysfunction. This antibody is a valuable asset in elucidating the complexities of immune modulation and holds promise for advancing therapeutic strategies targeting CD5-mediated pathways in various disease contexts.

Background:
CD5 is a 67 kD protein, also known as Lyt-1, Ly-1, T1, Tp67, or Ly-12. It is a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich protein superfamily (SRCR) and primarily expressed on thymocytes, T cells, and B-1 cells. Although mature α/β T cells express high levels of CD5, very few γ/δ T cells express this antigen. The interaction of CD5 with CD72, gp35-37, TCR, or BCR is involved in T and B cell activation.
