The Mouse CD5 Monoclonal Antibody FITC Conjugated (53-7.3) (AGEL1960) is a specialized research tool designed for the detection and analysis of CD5, a cell surface molecule known for its involvement in immune responses. This monoclonal antibody, conjugated with FITC for fluorescence detection, is specifically tailored for use in flow cytometry applications to study various cell types.CD5, a marker of mature T cells and B-1a B cells, plays a key role in the regulation of immune responses and is often implicated in autoimmune diseases and lymphoid malignancies. By targeting CD5 with this antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the expression and function of this important molecule in the immune system.
With its high specificity and reactivity to mouse samples, the Mouse CD5 Monoclonal Antibody FITC Conjugated (53-7.3) (AGEL1960) offers a reliable tool for immunology studies, particularly in the fields of B cell biology, T cell development, and autoimmune research. By enabling precise visualization and quantification of CD5-expressing cells, this antibody facilitates in-depth investigations into immune system dynamics and disease pathways, paving the way for innovative therapeutic interventions and treatment strategies.

Background:
CD5 is a 67 kD protein, also known as Lyt-1, Ly-1, T1, Tp67, or Ly-12. It is a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich protein superfamily (SRCR) and primarily expressed on thymocytes, T cells, and B-1 cells. Although mature α/β T cells express high levels of CD5, very few γ/δ T cells express this antigen. The interaction of CD5 with CD72, gp35-37, TCR, or BCR is involved in T and B cell activation.
