The Mouse CD5 Monoclonal Antibody FITC Conjugated (53-7.3) is a specialized tool for immunological studies, particularly in the realm of antigen detection and analysis. This antibody, conjugated with FITC for fluorescence detection, targets the CD5 protein present on the surface of certain immune cells. By specifically binding to CD5, researchers can effectively visualize and study the distribution and expression of this important cell marker.CD5, a well-known marker for T cells and B-1a cells, plays a pivotal role in immune responses and tolerance mechanisms. Its presence or absence on different subsets of lymphocytes provides valuable insights into immune system function and activation states. By utilizing the 53-7.3 FITC-conjugated antibody, scientists can explore the expression patterns of CD5 in various biological samples, aiding in the characterization and understanding of immune cell populations.
This antibody is a valuable tool for immunologists, researchers studying lymphocyte biology, and those investigating autoimmune diseases or immunodeficiency conditions. Its FITC conjugation allows for easy detection and visualization through fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry techniques, enabling precise identification and analysis of CD5-expressing cells. With its high specificity and reliability, the Mouse CD5 Monoclonal Antibody FITC Conjugated (53-7.3) is a key component for advancing research in immunology and cellular biology.

Background:
CD5 is a 67 kD protein, also known as Lyt-1, Ly-1, T1, Tp67, or Ly-12. It is a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich protein superfamily (SRCR) and primarily expressed on thymocytes, T cells, and B-1 cells. Although mature α/β T cells express high levels of CD5, very few γ/δ T cells express this antigen. The interaction of CD5 with CD72, gp35-37, TCR, or BCR is involved in T and B cell activation.
