The Mouse CD5 Monoclonal Antibody (AF488 Conjugated) 53-7.3 (AGEL1958) offered by AssayGenie is a cutting-edge tool designed for research applications involving CD5, a cell surface glycoprotein found on T cells. This monoclonal antibody, conjugated with AF488 for fluorescence-based detection, is highly specific and reactive with mouse samples. It has been rigorously validated for various experimental techniques, including flow cytometry and immunofluorescence, enabling precise detection and analysis of CD5 expression in different cell populations.CD5, a well-known marker of mature T cells, plays a pivotal role in T cell development and activation, as well as in regulating immune responses.
Its importance in modulating T cell signaling and function makes it a key target for investigating immune system dynamics in health and disease. Research utilizing the Mouse CD5 Monoclonal Antibody (AF488 Conjugated) 53-7.3 (AGEL1958) can provide valuable insights into T cell biology, immune regulation, and potential therapeutic strategies for conditions involving aberrant T cell activity, such as autoimmune diseases and immune-related disorders.

Background:
CD5 is a 67 kD protein, also known as Lyt-1, Ly-1, T1, Tp67, or Ly-12. It is a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich protein superfamily (SRCR) and primarily expressed on thymocytes, T cells, and B-1 cells. Although mature α/β T cells express high levels of CD5, very few γ/δ T cells express this antigen. The interaction of CD5 with CD72, gp35-37, TCR, or BCR is involved in T and B cell activation.
