The Mouse CD366 (Tim-3) Monoclonal Antibody, APC Conjugated (RMT3-23) is a vital tool for immunological research, particularly in the study of Tim-3, a cell surface receptor associated with immune regulation and exhaustion. This monoclonal antibody, specifically engineered for mouse samples, is conjugated with APC for easy detection and analysis in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence applications. By targeting the Tim-3 protein, this antibody allows precise identification and characterization of immune cells expressing Tim-3, facilitating investigations into immune responses, tolerance, and immunotherapy.Tim-3, a member of the T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain-containing protein family, serves as a crucial checkpoint molecule in immune responses by modulating T-cell function and tolerance.
Its role in regulating immune tolerance and exhaustion has significant implications for understanding chronic infections, autoimmune diseases, and cancer. The ability to accurately detect and measure Tim-3 expression using the APC-conjugated RMT3-23 antibody enables researchers to delve deeper into the mechanisms underlying immune dysfunction and develop novel therapeutic strategies targeting Tim-3 for various immune-related disorders.

Background:
CD366 (Tim-3) is a transmembrane protein also known as T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain containing protein-3. Tim-3 is expressed at high levels on activated T cells (preferentially on Th1 cells, monocytes/macrophages, and dendritic cells). Tim-3 has also been shown to exist as a soluble protein. Cells expressing Tim-3 are present at high levels in the CNS of animals at the onset of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a disease mediated by lymphocytes secreting Th1-like cytokines. Tim-3 has been proposed to inhibit Th1-mediated immune responses and promote immunological tolerance.
