The Mouse CD122 Monoclonal Antibody (FITC-conjugated, 5H4-AGEL0791) offered by Assay Genie is a cutting-edge tool for researchers delving into immune responses and cell signaling cascades. This monoclonal antibody specifically targets CD122, a crucial protein involved in the activation and function of immune cells, particularly in the context of interleukin-2 (IL-2) signaling pathways.Derived from mouse hybridoma cells, this antibody is meticulously validated for its specificity and sensitivity in various experimental techniques. By conjugating FITC to the antibody, it allows for easy and precise detection of CD122 in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence assays. Researchers can confidently utilize this antibody to explore the expression levels and localization of CD122 in different cell types, shedding light on its role in immune regulation and potential therapeutic targeting.
CD122, also known as the IL-2 receptor beta chain, is integral to T cell activation, proliferation, and survival, making it a focal point in immunology research. Understanding the dynamics of CD122 expression and engagement with IL-2 is paramount in unraveling immune responses in health and disease, including autoimmune disorders and cancer. By employing the Mouse CD122 Monoclonal Antibody (FITC-conjugated, 5H4-AGEL0791), researchers can delve deeper into the complexities of immune signaling pathways and potentially identify new avenues for therapeutic interventions.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD122 is a 70-75 kD IL-2 receptor β chain also known as IL-2Rβ, which is also shared by the IL-15 receptor. It is constitutively expressed by NK cells and at lower levels by T cells, B cells, monocytes, and macrophages. The IL-2Rβ chain can combine with either the common γ subunit (γc, CD132) alone or with the γc subunit and the IL-2Rα subunit (CD25) to generate intermediate or high affinity IL-2 receptor complexes, respectively. CD122 expression levels can be upregulated by activation. The 5H4 antibody does not block IL-2 binding to the IL-2 receptor. CD122 is expressed on murine, but not human, CD8+ Tregs involved in the maintenance of T cell homeostasis.
