The Mouse CD117 Monoclonal Antibody (PE-conjugated 2B8, #AGEL1183) is a powerful tool for research involving CD117, a cell surface marker that plays a crucial role in hematopoiesis and stem cell biology. This monoclonal antibody, specifically conjugated with PE for fluorescent detection, is designed for use in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence applications. CD117, also known as c-kit or stem cell factor receptor, is a transmembrane protein involved in the regulation of cell growth, differentiation, and survival of hematopoietic stem cells. Its expression is particularly prominent in various cell types, including hematopoietic progenitor cells, mast cells, and germ cells. The CD117 Monoclonal Antibody allows for precise labeling and identification of CD117-expressing cells, facilitating in-depth analysis of stem cell populations and hematopoietic processes.
With its high specificity and sensitivity, this antibody enables researchers to study the distribution, abundance, and function of CD117 in both normal and pathological conditions. Its application in flow cytometry provides valuable insights into cell populations and their dynamics, making it an essential tool for studies in hematology, oncology, and regenerative medicine. By elucidating the role of CD117, researchers can advance their understanding of hematopoietic disorders, cancer biology, and stem cell therapies, paving the way for innovative treatments and interventions.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD117 is a 145 kD immunoglobulin superfamily member also known as c-Kit and stem cell factor receptor (SCFR). It is a transmembrane tyrosine-kinase receptor that binds the c-Kit ligand (also known as steel factor, stem cell factor, and mast cell growth factor). CD117 is expressed on hematopoietic stem cells (including multipotent hematopoietic stem cells, progenitors committed to myeloid and/or erythroid lineages, and T and B cell precursors), mast cells, and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells. CD117 interaction with its ligand is critical for the development of hematopoietic stem cells.
