The Mouse CD117 Monoclonal Antibody (Biotin Conjugated) 2B8 (AGEL0337) offered by AssayGenie is a premium tool for research involving CD117, a cell surface receptor also known as c-Kit. This monoclonal antibody, developed for use in mouse samples, is expertly crafted to specifically target and bind to the CD117 protein, allowing for precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types.CD117, a crucial receptor involved in cell signaling and development, plays a vital role in processes such as hematopoiesis and gametogenesis. Aberrant expression or mutations in CD117 have been linked to various diseases, including certain types of cancer such as gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs).
With its strong reactivity and specificity, the Mouse CD117 Monoclonal Antibody (Biotin Conjugated) 2B8 provides researchers with a powerful tool to investigate the function and expression of CD117 in both normal physiological processes and disease states.Whether studying cell differentiation, tissue regeneration, or oncogenesis, this biotin-conjugated antibody is a versatile asset for laboratories engaged in immunology, oncology, and stem cell research. Its reliability and accuracy make it an indispensable resource for scientists seeking to unravel the complexities of CD117 biology and its implications in health and disease.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 1.0 µg per 106 cells in 100 µL volume or 100 µL of whole blood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Background:
CD117 is a 145 kD immunoglobulin superfamily member also known as c-Kit and stem cell factor receptor (SCFR). It is a transmembrane tyrosine-kinase receptor that binds the c-Kit ligand (also known as steel factor, stem cell factor, and mast cell growth factor). CD117 is expressed on hematopoietic stem cells (including multipotent hematopoietic stem cells, progenitors committed to myeloid and/or erythroid lineages, and T and B cell precursors), mast cells, and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells. CD117 interaction with its ligand is critical for the development of hematopoietic stem cells.
