The Mouse CD103 Monoclonal Antibody PE-Cyanine5.5 Conjugated (M290) is a valuable tool for researchers studying immune responses in mouse models. This antibody specifically targets CD103, a cell surface molecule known for its involvement in immune cell migration and tissue residency. By conjugating with PE-Cyanine5.5, this antibody allows for easy detection and analysis of CD103-expressing cells by flow cytometry and other imaging techniques.CD103, also known as integrin alpha E, plays a crucial role in immune surveillance and response within tissues, particularly in mucosal surfaces where it is abundantly expressed on intraepithelial lymphocytes.
Studying CD103 expression and function is essential for understanding immune cell dynamics in various physiological and pathological conditions, including infection, inflammation, and cancer. With the Mouse CD103 Monoclonal Antibody PE-Cyanine5.5 Conjugated (M290), researchers can effectively investigate the role of CD103-expressing cells in immune regulation, immune tolerance, and tissue-specific immunity. This antibody provides a reliable tool for in vitro and in vivo studies, offering insights into the complex interplay between immune cells and tissue environments in mouse models.

Background:
CD103 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein known as αE integrin or Integrin αIEL chain. It belongs to the integrin family and is primarily found on intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL). CD103 is also expressed on a subpopulation of lamina propria T cells, epithelial dendritic cells, lamina propria-derived dendritic cells, and a small subset of peripheral lymphocytes. T regulatory cells express high level of CD103. The CD103 expression on lymphocytes can be induced upon activation and TGF-β stimulation. In association with integrin β7, CD103 is expressed as αE/β7 heterodimer. Mature CD103 protein can be cleaved into 2 chains, a 150 kD (C-terminal) chain and a 25 kD (N-terminal) chain, which remain linked by disulfide bonds. CD103 binds to E-cadherin and mediates homing of lymphocytes to the intestinal epithelium.
