The Mouse CD103 Monoclonal Antibody PE-conjugated (M290) is a cutting-edge tool designed for precise analysis of CD103, a pivotal cell surface marker associated with immune regulation and tissue-resident memory T cells in the immune system. This monoclonal antibody, specifically engineered for mouse samples, offers exceptional sensitivity and specificity, making it a reliable choice for flow cytometry applications.CD103, also known as integrin alpha E, is a key player in immune surveillance and the regulation of immune responses within mucosal tissues. Its expression on T cells is crucial for their localization to epithelial surfaces and effective immune surveillance functions. The ability of this antibody to selectively target and detect CD103 provides researchers with a powerful method to explore the roles of CD103-expressing cells in immunity, inflammation, and tissue repair processes.
With its PE conjugation facilitating multicolor flow cytometry experiments, this CD103 monoclonal antibody simplifies the identification and characterization of CD103-expressing cell populations in various mouse models. Its application extends to research areas such as immunology, infectious diseases, cancer immunotherapy, and mucosal immunology. By delving into the functions and interactions of CD103, researchers can deepen their understanding of immune responses and potentially uncover novel therapeutic targets for immune-mediated diseases.

Background:
CD103 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein known as αE integrin or Integrin αIEL chain. It belongs to the integrin family and is primarily found on intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL). CD103 is also expressed on a subpopulation of lamina propria T cells, epithelial dendritic cells, lamina propria-derived dendritic cells, and a small subset of peripheral lymphocytes. T regulatory cells express high level of CD103. The CD103 expression on lymphocytes can be induced upon activation and TGF-β stimulation. In association with integrin β7, CD103 is expressed as αE/β7 heterodimer. Mature CD103 protein can be cleaved into 2 chains, a 150 kD (C-terminal) chain and a 25 kD (N-terminal) chain, which remain linked by disulfide bonds. CD103 binds to E-cadherin and mediates homing of lymphocytes to the intestinal epithelium.
