The Monkey GFAP (Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein) ELISA Kit is specifically designed for the accurate and reliable detection of GFAP levels in monkey serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. This kit offers high sensitivity and specificity, ensuring precise and reproducible results for a variety of research applications.GFAP is a key protein found in astrocytes, the star-shaped glial cells in the central nervous system. It is essential for maintaining the structure and function of astrocytes and is often used as a marker for central nervous system injury or disease.
By measuring GFAP levels, researchers can gain valuable insights into conditions such as traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer's disease, leading to potential advancements in diagnosis and treatment strategies.Overall, the Monkey GFAP ELISA Kit provides researchers with a powerful tool for studying the role of GFAP in neurological disorders and advancing our understanding of astrocyte function in the brain.
This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Monkey GFAP. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Monkey GFAP and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Monkey GFAP, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Monkey GFAP. You can calculate the concentration of Monkey GFAP in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
