Syntaxin-binding protein 6 (STXBP6) binds components of the SNARE complex and takes part in regulating SNARE complex configuration. STXBP6 forms non-fusogenic complexes with SNAP25 and STX1A and modulates the formation of SNARE complexes and exocytosis.
STXBP6 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 233 amino acids (1-210 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 25.9kDa.STXBP6 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | STXBP6: Forms non-fusogenic complexes with SNAP25 and STX1A and may thereby modulate the formation of functional SNARE complexes and exocytosis. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q12 Cellular Component: exocyst; plasma membrane Molecular Function:GTP-Rho binding; phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate binding Biological Process: exocyst localization; Golgi to plasma membrane transport; negative regulation of exocytosis |
NCBI Summary: | STXBP6 binds components of the SNARE complex (see MIM 603215) and may be involved in regulating SNARE complex formation (Scales et al., 2002 [PubMed 12145319]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008] |
