The Human Melatonin Sulfate ELISA Kit is specifically designed for the precise quantification of melatonin sulfate levels in human samples, including serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. This kit offers exceptional sensitivity and specificity, guaranteeing accurate and consistent results for various research purposes.Melatonin sulfate is a metabolite of melatonin, a hormone that regulates the sleep-wake cycle and circadian rhythms in the body.
Its measurement can provide valuable insights into sleep disorders, jet lag, and other conditions related to disrupted melatonin production. By accurately detecting melatonin sulfate levels, researchers can gain a better understanding of these physiological processes and potentially develop targeted interventions for managing sleep-related issues.

This ELISA kit uses the Competitive-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with MS. During the reaction, MS in the sample or standard competes with a fixed amount of MS on the solid phase supporter for sites on the Biotinylated Detection Ab specific to MS. Excess conjugate and unbound sample or standard are washed away, and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added to each micro plate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns from blue to yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The concentration of MS in tested samples can be calculated by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
