The Human CD8a Monoclonal Antibody (PerCP-Cyanine5.5 Conjugated OKT-8) is a cutting-edge immunology tool designed by Assay Genie for precise research applications. This antibody is meticulously crafted to target CD8a, a pivotal cell surface marker involved in immune responses and T cell activation. With its potent reactivity in human samples, this antibody is an invaluable asset for various immunological studies. The conjugation with PerCP-Cyanine5.5 enhances its utility by enabling multicolor flow cytometry analysis and immunofluorescence microscopy techniques.CD8a, also known as the T-cell co-receptor, plays a crucial role in adaptive immunity by aiding in the recognition of antigen-presenting cells.
Its expression on cytotoxic T cells makes it an essential marker for tracking T cell activation and differentiation in immune responses. Researchers can leverage the CD8a Monoclonal Antibody to delve into the complexities of T cell biology, antigen recognition, and immune surveillance in both health and disease settings.Whether investigating T cell-mediated immune responses, vaccine development, or autoimmune disorders, the Human CD8a Monoclonal Antibody offers a precise and reliable tool for immunological research. Unlock the potential of your experiments with this high-quality antibody from Assay Genie, trusted by researchers worldwide for its consistency and performance in diverse applications.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD8a is a 32-34 kD type I glycoprotein. It forms a homodimer (CD8a/a) or heterodimer (CD8a/b) with CD8b. CD8, also known as T8 and Leu2, is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily found on the majority of thymocytes, a subset of peripheral blood T cells, and NK cells (which express almost exclusively CD8a homodimers). CD8 acts as a co-receptor with MHC class I-restricted T cell receptors in antigen recognition and T cell activation and has been shown to play a role in thymic differentiation. Two domains in CD8a are important for function: the extracellular IgSF domain binds the α3 domain of MHC class I and the cytoplasmic CXCP motif binds the tyrosine kinase p56 Lck.
