The Human CD57 Monoclonal Antibody (PE/Cyanine7 Conjugated, HNK-1) - AGEL1034 from Assay Genie is a cutting-edge tool for research in immunology and cell biology. This monoclonal antibody is specially designed for the detection and analysis of CD57, a cell surface marker associated with natural killer cells and a subset of T cells.CD57, also known as HNK-1, is a marker of human lymphocytes with reduced proliferative capacity and increased cytotoxic potential. The conjugation of PE/Cyanine7 to this antibody allows for highly sensitive detection and quantification of CD57-expressing cells by flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy.
This antibody is ideal for studying immune responses, cell-mediated cytotoxicity, and identifying specific lymphocyte subsets in research related to infectious diseases, cancer immunotherapy, and autoimmune disorders. With its high specificity and validated performance in various experimental techniques, the Human CD57 Monoclonal Antibody (PE/Cyanine7 Conjugated, HNK-1) - AGEL1034 is a valuable tool for advancing scientific understanding in immunology and related fields.

Background:
CD57, also known as HNK-1, NK-1, and Leu-7 is a 100-115 kD oligosaccharide antigenic determinant expressed on a variety of proteins, lipids, and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans. CD57 is expressed on a subset of peripheral blood lymphocytes, including NK cells and CD8+ T cells, and is also expressed on neural cells and striated muscle. CD57 is not expressed on red blood cells, granulocytes, monocytes, or platelets. While the function of CD57 is unknown, binding to L-selectin, P-selectin, and a fragment of laminin suggests that CD57 may be involved in cell-matrix interactions. CD57 is increased in some disease states associated with CD4/CD8 imbalances (AIDS, autoimmune disease, viral infections, and allograft transplants).
