The Human CD49d Monoclonal Antibody (FITC Conjugated, 9F10) is a cutting-edge tool designed for researchers studying cell adhesion and migration processes. This antibody specifically targets CD49d, a cell surface integrin involved in cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions, essential for various physiological and pathological processes.By utilizing the FITC conjugation, this antibody allows for fluorescent detection of CD49d in human samples, enabling precise visualization and analysis in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence experiments. The high specificity and sensitivity of the 9F10 antibody make it a reliable choice for investigating cell adhesion dynamics in diverse cell types and experimental settings.CD49d, also known as integrin alpha-4, plays a crucial role in leukocyte trafficking, inflammation, and immune responses.
Dysregulation of CD49d function has been implicated in various diseases, including inflammatory disorders, autoimmune conditions, and cancer metastasis. Therefore, a deeper understanding of CD49d biology is paramount for developing targeted therapies and interventions that modulate cell adhesion processes in disease settings. This FITC-conjugated monoclonal antibody represents a valuable tool for researchers seeking to elucidate the intricate mechanisms underlying cell adhesion mediated by CD49d, paving the way for novel insights into disease pathogenesis and therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating cell behavior.

Background:
CD49d is a 150 kD α integrin chain known as α4 integrin or VLA-4 α chain. It forms a heterodimer with either integrin β1 (α4β1, VLA-4) or β7 (α4β7). CD49d is expressed broadly on T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, monocytes, thymocytes, eosinophils, basophils, mast cells, NK cells, dendritic cells, and some non-hematopoietic cells, but not on normal red blood cells, platelets or neutrophils. VLA-4 binds to VCAM-1 (CD106) and fibronectin. α4β7 is the receptor for VCAM-1 and MAdCAM-1. CD49d participates in mononuclear cell trafficking to endothelial sites of inflammation and has roles in cell-cell interactions and cell adhesion to extracellular matrices. CD49d is involved in lymphocyte migration, T cell activation, and hematopoietic stem cell differentiation. CD49d is a marker to isolate pure populations of Treg cells due to its absence on Foxp3+ cells.
