The Human CD49d Monoclonal Antibody (APC-conjugated) (9F10) is a specialized research tool offered by Assay Genie for studying CD49d, a key cell surface molecule involved in immune function and cell adhesion processes. This monoclonal antibody, designated as 9F10, is optimized for use in flow cytometry experiments and is reactive with human samples.By targeting the CD49d protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis of CD49d expression in various cell types, making it ideal for investigations in immunology, cell biology, and cancer research. With its APC conjugation, the antibody provides enhanced signal detection and can be utilized to study the role of CD49d in cell migration, leukocyte trafficking, and inflammatory responses.
CD49d, also known as integrin alpha-4, plays a crucial role in mediating cell adhesion and regulating immune cell interactions within the body. Its involvement in immune responses and inflammatory processes positions it as a promising target for understanding diseases such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and inflammatory conditions. Researchers can utilize this antibody to delve deeper into the functions of CD49d and explore its potential implications in various pathological states, ultimately contributing to the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

Background:
CD49d is a 150 kD α integrin chain known as α4 integrin or VLA-4 α chain. It forms a heterodimer with either integrin β1 (α4β1, VLA-4) or β7 (α4β7). CD49d is expressed broadly on T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, monocytes, thymocytes, eosinophils, basophils, mast cells, NK cells, dendritic cells, and some non-hematopoietic cells, but not on normal red blood cells, platelets or neutrophils. VLA-4 binds to VCAM-1 (CD106) and fibronectin. α4β7 is the receptor for VCAM-1 and MAdCAM-1. CD49d participates in mononuclear cell trafficking to endothelial sites of inflammation and has roles in cell-cell interactions and cell adhesion to extracellular matrices. CD49d is involved in lymphocyte migration, T cell activation, and hematopoietic stem cell differentiation. CD49d is a marker to isolate pure populations of Treg cells due to its absence on Foxp3+ cells.
