The Human CD24 Monoclonal Antibody FITC Conjugated (ML5) is a specialized tool for research involving CD24, a cell surface protein associated with various biological functions, particularly in immune response modulation and cancer development. This antibody, conjugated with FITC for fluorescence applications, is specifically designed for use in flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and other techniques requiring visual detection of CD24 expression.CD24, a glycoprotein expressed on the surface of cells, plays a crucial role in cell adhesion, differentiation, and signaling processes. It is implicated in modulating immune responses and has been shown to be overexpressed in certain cancer types, making it a promising target for anticancer therapy development and diagnostic applications.
By detecting and quantifying CD24 levels in different cell populations, researchers can gain insights into its function and potential implications in disease progression. The ML5 antibody offers high specificity and sensitivity towards human CD24, ensuring reliable and accurate results in experimental settings. Its conjugation with FITC allows for easy visualization and quantification of CD24-expressing cells, making it a valuable tool for studies in immunology, oncology, and stem cell research. Whether investigating the role of CD24 in immune regulation, tumor biology, or stem cell characterization, this antibody provides a versatile solution for researchers seeking to delve deeper into the complex functions of CD24 in physiological and pathological contexts.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD24 is a 35-45 kD glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-linked protein also known as heat stable antigen (HSA), BA-1, Ly-52, and nectadrin. It is expressed on the surface of B cells (but not plasma cells), granulocytes, follicular dendritic cells, and epithelial cells. CD24 may play a role in the regulation of B-cell proliferation and maturation. CD24 crosslinking induces a Ca2+ flux in mature B cells. CD24 has been shown to interact with CD62P (P-selectin).
