The Human CD20 Monoclonal Antibody AF647 Conjugated (BCA-B20, AGEL0921) is a specialized tool for researchers interested in investigating the CD20 protein, a key marker found on the surface of B cells. This monoclonal antibody, conjugated with AF647 for enhanced detection capabilities, is tailored for use in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence applications. By specifically targeting the CD20 antigen, this antibody facilitates precise identification and analysis of B cells in various research settings.CD20, a transmembrane protein primarily expressed on B lymphocytes, plays a crucial role in B cell activation, proliferation, and differentiation, making it a pivotal target for immunology and oncology studies.
With its involvement in various B cell-related diseases, such as lymphomas and autoimmune disorders, understanding the function and expression of CD20 is instrumental in developing targeted therapies and diagnostic approaches. Researchers looking to delve into B cell biology, immunotherapy, or lymphoproliferative disorders will find this antibody invaluable in their investigations.

Background:
CD20 is a 33-37 kD, four transmembrane spanning protein, also known as B1 and Bp35. CD20 is expressed on pre-B-cells, resting and activated B cells (not plasma cells), some follicular dendritic cells, and at low levels on a T cell subset. CD20 is heavily phosphorylated on activated B cells and malignant B cells. Homo-oligomeric complexes of CD20 are thought to form Ca2+ conductive ion channels in the plasma membrane of B cells. The CD20 molecule is involved in B-cell activation and is associated with various Src family kinases (Lyn, Lck, Fyn). It exists in a complex with MHC class I and II, CD53, CD81, and CD82.
