C1D s which regulates TRAX/Translin complex formation takes part in the recruitment of the RNA exosome complex to pre-rRNA to mediate the 3'-5' end processing of the 5.8S rRNA. C1D which activates PRKDC in the presence of linear DNA and supercoiled DNA also induces apoptosis in a p53/TP53 dependent manner.
C1D Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 164 amino acids (1-141) and having a molecular mass of 18.4kDa. C1D is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | C1D: Plays a role in the recruitment of the RNA exosome complex to pre-rRNA to mediate the 3'-5' end processing of the 5.8S rRNA; this function may include MPHOSPH6. Can activate PRKDC not only in the presence of linear DNA but also in the presence of supercoiled DNA. Can induce apoptosis in a p53/TP53 dependent manner. May regulate the TRAX/TSN complex formation. Potentiates transcriptional repression by NR1D1 and THRB. Belongs to the C1D family. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Nucleolus; DNA-binding; Transcription, coactivator/corepressor; Nuclear receptor co-regulator Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p13-p12 Cellular Component: transcriptional repressor complex; cytoplasm; nucleolus; nucleus; nuclear exosome (RNase complex) Molecular Function:ligand-dependent nuclear receptor binding; protein binding; DNA binding; RNA binding; transcription corepressor activity Biological Process: maturation of 5.8S rRNA; transcription, DNA-dependent; apoptosis; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent |
NCBI Summary: | The protein encoded by this gene is a DNA binding and apoptosis-inducing protein and is localized in the nucleus. It is also a Rac3-interacting protein which acts as a corepressor for the thyroid hormone receptor. This protein is thought to regulate TRAX/Translin complex formation. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein. Multiple pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosome 10.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2010] |
