The FA-VB9 (Folic Acid Vitamin B9) ELISA Kit is a versatile and reliable kit designed for the accurate measurement of folic acid levels in biological samples including serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. This kit offers high sensitivity and specificity, ensuring precise and reproducible results for a variety of research applications.Folic acid, also known as Vitamin B9, is an essential nutrient that plays a crucial role in DNA synthesis and repair, cell division, and overall cellular function. Adequate folic acid levels are important for overall health and can impact a range of conditions, including neural tube defects in pregnancy, cardiovascular diseases, and certain cancers.
By accurately measuring folic acid levels in biological samples, researchers can gain valuable insights into the role of folic acid in health and disease, as well as develop potential therapeutic interventions. The FA-VB9 ELISA Kit is a valuable tool for studying folic acid metabolism and its implications for human health.
This ELISA kit uses the Competitive-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with FA/VB9. During the reaction, FA/VB9 in the sample or standard competes with a fixed amount of FA/VB9 on the solid phase supporter for sites on the Biotinylated Detection Ab specific to FA/VB9. Excess conjugate and unbound sample or standard are washed away, and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added to each micro plate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns from blue to yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The concentration of FA/VB9 in tested samples can be calculated by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
