The Mouse CD80 Monoclonal Antibody (16-10A1) - AGEL0523 is a powerful tool for researchers studying the CD80 protein, an essential co-stimulatory molecule involved in immune responses. This purified monoclonal antibody, produced specifically for mouse samples, is well-suited for a variety of applications, including flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.CD80, also known as B7-1, plays a pivotal role in T cell activation and immune regulation by interacting with its receptor, CD28, on T cells. This interaction is crucial for initiating effective immune responses and modulating T cell functions.
The CD80 Monoclonal Antibody (16-10A1) - AGEL0523 binds specifically to the CD80 protein, allowing for precise detection and analysis in mouse samples. Research involving CD80 is instrumental in understanding immune responses, autoimmune diseases, and inflammatory conditions. The ability to accurately detect and study CD80 expression in different cell types provides valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying these complex processes. By utilizing the CD80 Monoclonal Antibody (16-10A1) - AGEL0523, researchers can advance their studies in immunology, cancer research, and beyond.

Background:
CD80 is a 60 kD highly glycosylated protein. It is a member of the Ig superfamily and is also known as B7-1, B7, and Ly-53. CD80 is constitutively expressed on dendritic cells and monocytes/macrophages, and inducibly expressed on activated B and T cells. The ligation of CD28 on T cells with CD80 and CD86 (B7-2) on antigen presenting cells (such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells) elicits co-stimulation of T cells resulting in enhanced cell activation, proliferation, and cytokine production. CD80 appears to be expressed later in the immune response than CD86. CD80 can also bind to CD152, also known as CTLA-4, to deliver an inhibitory signal to T cells.
