The Mouse CD161/NK1.1 Monoclonal Antibody (PK136) is a specialized research tool designed for the detection and analysis of CD161/NK1.1, a cell surface marker associated with natural killer cells and other immune cell subpopulations. This antibody, produced through purification processes, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for mouse samples, making it an invaluable tool for immunology research.CD161/NK1.1, also known as NKR-P1C, is a marker that helps identify and study specific subsets of immune cells, particularly natural killer cells, NKT cells, and subsets of T cells. Understanding the expression and function of CD161/NK1.
1 is essential for unraveling the intricacies of immune responses and exploring potential therapeutic targets for various immune-related disorders. With its ability to selectively bind to CD161/NK1.1 antigens, the PK136 monoclonal antibody enables researchers to pinpoint and characterize these specialized immune cell populations in diverse experimental settings. Whether investigating immune cell dynamics, studying immune system interactions, or developing novel immunotherapies, this antibody offers a precise and reliable tool for advancing immunological studies.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 1.0 µg per 106 cells in 100 µL volume or 100 µL of whole blood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Background:
NK-1.1 surface antigen, also known as CD161b/CD161c and Ly-55, is encoded by the NKR-P1B/NKR-P1C gene. It is expressed on NK cells and NK-T cells in some mouse strains, including C57BL/6, FVB/N, and NZB, but not AKR, BALB/c, CBA/J, C3H, DBA/1, DBA/2, NOD, SJL, and 129. Expression of NKR-P1C antigen has been correlated with lysis of tumor cells in vitro and rejection of bone marrow allografts in vivo. NK-1.1 has also been shown to play a role in NK cell activation, IFN-γ production, and cytotoxic granule release. NK-1.1 and DX5 are commonly used as mouse NK cell markers.
