The CD11a Monoclonal Antibody (AGEL2085) is a purified human monoclonal antibody designed for research applications involving CD11a, a cell surface protein integral to immune cell function and adhesion. The antibody, clone R7-1, is highly specific and binds specifically to the CD11a protein, allowing for precise detection and analysis in human samples.CD11a, also known as integrin alpha L, is a critical component of the lymphocyte function-associated antigen 1 (LFA-1) complex, essential for T cell activation and migration. By targeting CD11a, researchers can investigate pathways related to immune response, inflammation, and cell adhesion processes.
This monoclonal antibody is validated for a variety of experimental techniques, including flow cytometry and immunoprecipitation, enabling detailed examination of CD11a expression and function in different cell types.Studying CD11a with this monoclonal antibody holds promise for advancing knowledge in immunology, autoimmune diseases, and inflammatory conditions. Its specificity and reliability make it an invaluable tool for researchers seeking to unravel the complexities of immune system regulation and develop new strategies for therapeutic interventions.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 2.0 µg per 106 cells in 100 µL volume or 100 µL of whole blood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Background:
CD11a is a 170-180 kD type I transmembrane glycoprotein also known as LFA-1α chain and integrin αL subunit. CD11a non-covalently associates with integrin β2 (CD18) to form LFA-1. It is expressed on all leukocytes, including B and T lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, basophils and eosinophils. It is absent on non-hematopoietic tissues and platelets. CD11a plays a central role in leukocyte cell-cell interactions and is important in lymphocyte costimulation. CD11a/CD18 binds to ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-2 (CD102), and ICAM-3 (CD50).
