The Mouse CD279 (PD-1) Monoclonal Antibody PE Conjugated (29F.1A12) is a cutting-edge tool designed for the study of the PD-1 protein, a key immune checkpoint receptor involved in the regulation of T cell activation and tolerance. This monoclonal antibody, characterized by its specificity and efficiency, is conjugated with PE for enhanced detection in flow cytometry assays.PD-1, also known as programmed cell death protein 1, is a crucial immune checkpoint receptor that plays a pivotal role in maintaining peripheral tolerance and preventing autoimmunity by suppressing T cell responses. Its dysregulation has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, autoimmune disorders, and infectious diseases.
The 29F.1A12 antibody specifically targets PD-1, allowing for precise detection and analysis of its expression in different cell populations. This PE-conjugated monoclonal antibody is essential for researchers studying immune regulation, tumor immunology, and immunotherapy. By accurately detecting PD-1 expression, researchers can gain insights into the immune evasion mechanisms employed by cancer cells and develop novel strategies to enhance antitumor immune responses. The reliable performance and high sensitivity of the 29F.1A12 antibody make it an indispensable tool for advancing research in immunology and finding innovative treatments for diseases associated with immune dysfunction.

Background:
CD279, also known as programmed death-1 (PD-1), is a 50-55 kD glycoprotein belonging to the CD28 family of the Ig superfamily. PD-1 is expressed on activated splenic T and B cells and thymocytes. It is induced on activated myeloid cells as well. PD-1 is involved in lymphocyte clonal selection and peripheral tolerance through binding its ligands, B7-H1 (PD-L1) and B7-DC (PD-L2). It has been reported that PD-1 and PD-L1 interactions are critical to positive selection and play a role in shaping the T cell repertoire. PD-L1 negative costimulation is essential for prolonged survival of intratesticular islet allografts.
