The Mouse CD161 (NK1.1) Monoclonal Antibody PE-Cyanine5 Conjugated (PK136) (AGEL0488) is a powerful tool for studying natural killer (NK) cells and innate immunity. This monoclonal antibody specifically targets the CD161 marker, also known as NK1.1, which is commonly expressed on NK cells and some T cell subsets in mice. By conjugating with PE-Cyanine5, this antibody allows for easy detection and analysis of CD161-expressing cells using flow cytometry.NK cells are pivotal players in the innate immune system, contributing to host defense against infections and surveillance for abnormal cells, including tumor cells. The expression of CD161 is a key identifier of NK cells in mice and plays a role in their activation and function.
The PK136 antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool to investigate the role of NK cells in various immunological processes, such as infection, inflammation, and tumor immunity. With its high specificity and conjugation with PE-Cyanine5, the Mouse CD161 (NK1.1) Monoclonal Antibody PK136 is an essential reagent for immunologists and researchers studying mouse immune responses. Its application extends to a wide range of studies, including immunology, infectious diseases, cancer research, and autoimmune disorders. By targeting CD161, this antibody facilitates precise identification and characterization of NK cells, contributing to advancements in our understanding of innate immunity and immune-mediated diseases.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use. We suggest each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results [The recommended concentration is 0.1-1 μg/106 cells in 100 μL volume].

Background:
NK-1.1 surface antigen, also known as CD161b/CD161c and Ly-55, is encoded by the NKR-P1B/NKR-P1C gene. It is expressed on NK cells and NK-T cells in some mouse strains, including C57BL/6, FVB/N, and NZB, but not AKR, BALB/c, CBA/J, C3H, DBA/1, DBA/2, NOD, SJL, and 129. Expression of NKR-P1C antigen has been correlated with lysis of tumor cells in vitro and rejection of bone marrow allografts in vivo. NK-1.1 has also been shown to play a role in NK cell activation, IFN-γ production, and cytotoxic granule release. NK-1.1 and DX5 are commonly used as mouse NK cell markers.
