The Mouse CD11c Monoclonal Antibody, APC Conjugated (N418) is a powerful tool for researching immune cells within the body's defense system. This antibody specifically targets the CD11c protein, which is a marker for dendritic cells, a crucial component of the immune system responsible for presenting antigens to T cells. By binding to CD11c, this antibody allows for the visualization and analysis of dendritic cells in various tissues and experimental models. Dendritic cells are essential in initiating and regulating immune responses, playing key roles in both protective immunity and tolerance. By targeting CD11c with this antibody, researchers can explore the functions and interactions of dendritic cells in different contexts, including infection, inflammation, and autoimmune diseases.
The APC conjugation enhances the detection capabilities of the antibody, making it a valuable tool for flow cytometry and other immunological techniques.Overall, the Mouse CD11c Monoclonal Antibody, APC Conjugated (N418), provides a precise and efficient means of studying dendritic cells and their involvement in immune processes. Its specificity and versatility make it an excellent choice for investigations into immunology, vaccine development, and understanding the complexities of the body's defense mechanisms.

Background:
CD11c is a 150 kD glycoprotein also known as αX integrin, CR4, and p150. CD11c forms a αXβ2 heterodimer with β2 integrin (CD18). It is primarily expressed on dendritic cells, NK cells, a subset of intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL), and some activated T cells. The αXβ2 integrin plays an important role in cell-cell contact by binding its ligands: iC3b, fibrinogen and CD54.
