The Mouse CD106 Monoclonal Antibody PE/Cyanine5 Conjugated (M-K-2.7) is a specialized tool for researchers studying CD106, a cell adhesion molecule involved in immune responses and inflammation. This antibody is derived from mouse cells and is conjugated with PE/Cyanine5 for detection and analysis in flow cytometry and related applications. By targeting the CD106 protein, this antibody enables precise identification and characterization of CD106-expressing cells, facilitating in-depth studies in immunology and related fields.CD106, also known as vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1), plays a key role in the immune response by mediating cell adhesion and migration.
Its involvement in inflammatory processes, particularly in the recruitment of immune cells to sites of infection or tissue damage, makes it a valuable target for research into conditions such as inflammatory diseases, atherosclerosis, and transplant rejection. Investigating the function and regulation of CD106 with this antibody can provide valuable insights into the immune mechanisms underlying these conditions, potentially leading to the development of targeted therapeutic strategies.

Background:
CD106 is a 110 kD glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-linked transmembrane protein, also known as VCAM-1 and INCAM-110. It is constitutively expressed on bone marrow stromal cells, myeloid progenitors, splenic dendritic cells, activated endothelial cells, as well as some lymphocytes. CD106 expression can be upregulated on endothelial cells by inflammatory cytokines. CD106 is involved in adhesion and acts as a counter-receptor for VLA-4 (α4/β1 integrin) and LPAM-1 (α4/β7 integrin).
