The CD47 Monoclonal Antibody (AF488 Conjugated) (MIAP410) is a cutting-edge tool designed for the detection and analysis of CD47, a cell surface protein known for its role in immune response modulation. This monoclonal antibody, conjugated with AF488 for enhanced fluorescence detection, is compatible with human, mouse, and rat samples, offering versatility for a wide range of research applications.CD47, also referred to as integrin-associated protein, is a crucial molecule involved in "self" recognition and immune evasion mechanisms. Its functions include regulating phagocytosis, cell migration, and T-cell activation, making it a promising target for investigations in immunology and cancer biology. By specifically binding to CD47, the antibody facilitates the visualization and characterization of this protein in various cell types, aiding researchers in elucidating its involvement in diseases such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and inflammatory conditions.
With its high reactivity and specificity, the CD47 Monoclonal Antibody (AF488 Conjugated) (MIAP410) is a valuable asset for studies aiming to unravel the complex interplay between the immune system and disease pathogenesis. Whether used in flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, or other experimental techniques, this antibody empowers researchers to delve deeper into the intricate mechanisms governed by CD47, paving the way for novel therapeutic strategies and potential clinical interventions.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use. We suggest each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results [The recommended concentration is 0.1-1 μg/106 cells in 100 μL volume].

Background:
CD47, also known as Integrin-Associated Protein (IAP), is a membrane protein of about 50 kD with an IgV-like extracelluluar domain, a five membrane-spanning segment and a short terminal cytoplasmic region. It is widely expressed on many cell types and often associated with beta 3 integrins. It has been reported that CD47 functions as a self marker. Red cells lacking CD47 were rapidly cleared from the bloodstream by splenic macrophages. By binding to SIRPα, CD47 controls hemostatic innate immune functions, such as phagocytosis and cell trafficking.
