![]() | IHC image of PACO62615 diluted at 1:300 and staining in paraffin-embedded human testis tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system. |
Background: | May be involved in formation of stretch-resistant cell-cell adhesion complexes. |
Synonyms: | Catenin alpha-3 (α T-catenin) (Cadherin-associated protein), CTNNA3 |
UniProt Protein Function: | CTNNA3: May be involved in formation of stretch-resistant cell- cell adhesion complexes. Belongs to the vinculin/alpha-catenin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Cell adhesion Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q22.2 Cellular Component: cytoskeleton; lamellipodium; cytoplasm; fascia adherens Molecular Function:actin filament binding; protein binding; cadherin binding Biological Process: cell-cell adhesion Disease: Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia, Familial, 13 |
NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the vinculin/alpha-catenin family. The encoded protein plays a role in cell-cell adhesion in muscle cells. Mutations in this gene are associated with arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia, familial 13. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014] |
